Privacy Policy
Updated October 4, 2026
HomeInsight Inc runs HomePrep (also called HomePrep AI) at homeprepai.com. This page says what we collect, why, and who else sees it. It is written for agents, not a courtroom. It is not a lawyer-stamped policy.
Who we are
HomeInsight Inc operates HomePrep. Questions go to support@homeprepai.com. We do not publish a street address or phone number.
What we collect
Account: your work email and a password. We store a hash of the password, not the password itself.
Listings: a street address, walkthrough photos, optional comparable-estimate files, the look you pick, renovation afters, to-dos, and the dollar amounts on a plan.
Billing: Stripe handles cards. We keep subscription status, Stripe customer ids, and coupon grants. We do not store full card numbers.
Address lookup: when you type an address we send that text to Esri ArcGIS so we can suggest a match.
Mail: password-reset and plan emails come from noreply@homeprepai.com.
Technical: a signed-in session cookie. We do not run advertising analytics on the app.
We record first-party usage events (for example sign up, upload, and sharing) tied to your account ID to improve HomePrep. These events contain no emails or photos, and we use no third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We also use cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits.
How we use it
We use this information to create and save your listings, run AI renovation, suggest estimates, bill the subscription, send reset mail, and show a seller or contractor the package you share.
AI renovation
When you generate a plan or edit a photo, we send the photo and your prompt to Google Gemini to tag rooms and create renovation afters. Optional comparable files may be read the same way so we can pull quote numbers.
Walkthrough uploads by themselves are stored only. AI does not run until you generate.
Estimates
Dollar amounts can come from a comparable you uploaded, your price book, or regional cost data. They are planning numbers. They are not a contractor bid.
Share links
You can create a long seller link and a contractor link. Anyone with the link can open that package. Seller links include prices. Contractor links hide them. The pages are read-only. Treat a share link like an email attachment.
Product analytics
We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how people use HomePrep and to fix problems. It records page activity and session replays with form fields hidden. We don't record your home photos, and we don't sell your data.
Who else sees data
Stripe handles checkout, coupons, and the billing portal.
Google Gemini sees photos and prompts for renovation and extract.
Cloudflare may store photo files when that storage is on.
Esri ArcGIS sees the address text you type for suggestions.
AutoSend sends transactional email.
People you send a share link or PDF to can see that package.
We do not sell your listings.
Cookies
A cookie named prepday_account keeps you signed in for 30 days. It is httpOnly. Bookmark-agent links may use a separate prepday_agent cookie.
A first-party cookie named hp_ft remembers how you first reached the site: the campaign tags in the link (utm_source and similar), the referring site, and the first page. It is httpOnly, lasts 180 days, and is saved on your account when you sign up. It is not shared with ad networks.
How long we keep it
Listings stay on your account until you delete the listing or ask us to delete the account. Session cookies expire after 30 days if you do not sign in again. Stripe keeps billing records under its own rules.
Your choices
You can edit or delete a listing in the app. To close an account or ask what we have on file, email support@homeprepai.com. There is no self-serve export yet.
Children
HomePrep is for real-estate agents. It is not for people under 18.
